I happened upon your blog quite by accident, but it looks like a place I’ll be spending quite a lot of time in the future! I’m a Marine Biologist / Oceanographer who said “to hell with it” towards the end of a PhD because I realised the world of research and academia as it stands today was not a place I wanted to be in (stupid global financial crisis!). I’ve been looking for marine-related work since then, getting by on other jobs, but the only thing I miss from my lab days are sharing the passion for the oceans with other people in my lab or in conference (I LOVED going to conferences!). So your place seems like a gift to me! Cheers! 🙂
Interesting blog – marine conservation could do with a higher profile, even amongst conservationists! I love the questionable puns in the blog and page titles too….!
